psychotherapist, educator, consultant
“I want to unfold where I am folded, for there I am most alive.”
— Rainer Maria Rilke
Many of the people who come to see me have various motivations for seeking psychotherapy. Whether we feel alone or overwhelmed by the needs of others, want to experience less confusion or more contentment in our lives, we can all benefit from a space to explore and understand our feelings.
What I Offer
“Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery.”
In our therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behavior. I will help you “re-frame” your reactions and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles.
I actively collaborate with my clients to better understand past and present experiences and how they currently affect life options, choices, and decisions, and I draw upon clients' emotional, mental, and spiritual resilience to support healing and (re) engagement in life in the most efficient and focused way.
Life Transition Coaching
Clearing the Way for a New Path
So many people are unhappy with where they work or what they are doing, even where they are living, but don't know how to make the changes that they long for. If this sounds like you, perhaps you don't want to talk about your past or family dynamics in depth, and instead would rather focus on the here and now of making important life decisions that feel right. In this case, there is no set number of sessions that I would recommend, but simply that we keep working until you've made the discoveries that will lead to change you're seeking. This is more solution-focused, strategizing work that WILL bring about a life shift, so long as you are ready.
Educating and Supportive Training
If you are an employer who has a staff member dealing acute or prolonged anxiety from a difficult life event, I work on a short term basis with large organizations, law firms, corporations and small businesses to help implement wellness programs and support circles which will enable a healthier work environment, continued productivity, and a supportive community base for your employees.
Aftercare Recovery Supportive Services
Structure Against Vulnerability
For someone who has just ended a detox and treatment program, relapse is a very real fear. I work with family members and people leaving treatment to ensure a safe and healthy structure is created to prevent relapse during a vulnerable transition period. This comes in the form of psychotherapy, group therapy and family sessions to map out prevention measures that will help you to continue creating a more balanced and healthy life.
